A solid, heavy 18 karat yellow gold antique Edwardian Albert chain with alternating double trombone & round uniform links with a T-bar. Most links stamped ‘18' with the crown assay mark, a common finesse mark in England, along with a makers marek 'JES'. The Albert chain can be roughly dated to 1910 when many of these chains were at the height of fashion.

The chain has one swivel 'dog' clasp and one large spring loaded jump/bolt ring, both of which are in full working order. A great added feature with this particular chain is the t-bar is able to slide freely along the entire length of the chain, a great versatile feature.

Weighing a hefty 89 grams and measuring 18” or 450mm long and 10mm wide the chain is a rare example with many similar chains having been scrapped. Traditionally worn as a watch chain suspending a pocket watch, Albert chains can also be worn as necklaces and used to suspend charms and pendants.

CONDITION - Very good, wear commensurate with age. NB the links are in excellent condition with very little signs of wear which is very rare for antique 18k gold chains.
