A delightful 18 karat yellow gold sapphire and diamond five stone gypsy ring that was hallmarked in 1917 in Chester, UK. It is a very pretty example displaying a pleasing colour in the sapphires, the 'cornflower blue' hue usually derives from Sri Lanka or Ceylon as it was at that time. The claw set stones are all old cut gems set in this traditional gypsy antique ring. This antique ring is a fine example of Victorian design that continued to be popular throughout this period too and makes for great stacking ring. Made in 1917 one can only guess what story this ring had to tell during such turbulent times.
