A delicate Edwardian 18 karat gold and platinum gem set pendant, made circa 1910. Mille grain set with a trapeze cut aquamarine, rose cut diamonds and small Baroque pearls this articulated pendant comes in its own maroon Morocco leather fitted case. Typical of this era, this swagged design has a central trefoil motif with delicate diamond set ‘bars’ with attached pearls. There is a trapeze cut aquamarine of approximately 0.30 carat, with an estimated 0.32 carats of rose cut diamonds and four pearls of 2.18 grains. The introduction of platinum to replace silver, that was used by the Victorians created much lighter, airy jewelry that is perfectly exhibited here in this lovely piece.
