A stunning 15 Karat yellow gold Victorian amethyst bracelet displaying eight large faceted amethysts. Each gemstone ranging between 17mm and 20mm in diameter contained within a hexagonal 15k gold mount with a double rope edge and triple granulated bead decoration. With a tongue and groove fastener and safety chain this striking antique bracelet is extremely wearable, having a contemporary look for such a great period piece. Dating from circa 1880, a very Victorian design popular as it complimented the purple or lilac dress worn as the subsequent colour allowed after a period of formal black mourning.
