A solid, 18 karat yellow gold Albert chain necklace with trombone and round round link detail. There is a clear registration mark dating the chain to 1873. The jump ring remains in excellent, working order. The piece dates form the late Victorian period, the height of the Albert chain era made popular by Prince Albert.

 

Weighing in at heavy 76.1g and measuring an impressive 21” or 540mm long the chain is a rare and fine example. Traditionally worn as a watch chain suspending a pocket watch, Albert chains can also be worn as necklaces and used to suspend charms and pendants. This piece also acts a great investment piece which can also be worn!
